Statement of Intent
Employer's formal commitment to health & safety
Legal basis: Under s.2(3) of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, every employer with five or more employees must have a written H&S policy. This statement sets out the employer's commitment and must be signed by the most senior person in the organisation.

It is the policy of (hereinafter "the Company") to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of all its employees and others who may be affected by its work activities, including subcontractors, visitors, and members of the public.

The Company recognises and accepts its responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, and all other relevant legislation and approved codes of practice.

The Company is committed to:

  • Providing and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment
  • Identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing effective control measures
  • Providing adequate information, instruction, training and supervision
  • Consulting with employees on health and safety matters
  • Ensuring that plant, equipment and substances are safe and without risk to health
  • Reviewing and updating this policy at least annually, or following any significant change

It is the duty of every employee to cooperate with the Company to enable these responsibilities to be carried out, and to take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work.
