1. Raise the laptop on a stand so the top of the screen sits at eye level, and pair it with a separate keyboard to work alongside the existing wireless mouse.
2. Re-position the desk side-on to the window, or fit a blind, to remove the afternoon glare on the screen.
3. Replace the dining chair with an adjustable task chair (seat height + back support).
4. Re-check posture once the riser and chair are in place — forearms horizontal, feet flat on the floor.
Review in 12 months, or sooner if the neck/shoulder discomfort continues after the changes.
